Won Best Masters Craftsmanship at Isekai Anime Con 2026 and 1st Place Masters ToshoCon 2025

My Mollymauk Tealeaf cosplay has been one of my biggest and most challenging builds so far. The full costume took about 425 hours to complete, with the coat alone taking around 265 hours. I started the build in May of 2025 and finished it in February of 2026, taking nearly 10 months to complete.

This build involved many detailed techniques, including embroidery, beadwork, fabric painting, and a lot of hand sewing. One of the biggest challenges was that all of the patterns for this cosplay were drafted by hand, including the embroidery designs. The coat was especially time-consuming to pattern. This made the process more time-consuming, but it also allowed me to create a more accurate and custom fit.

This cosplay is especially meaningful to me because it is an ode to my beginner self. In 2021, I started making a much simpler Mollymauk design. I entered my very first cosplay contest with it in 2022. Even then, I always planned to remake the cosplay once my skills were more aligned with what it would take to make a new one.

In 2025, a new Critical Role art book was released with an updated Mollymauk Tealeaf design. I already had the red fabric for the coat, so it felt like the right moment to start this new version.

This cosplay pushed me to improve my skills and learn harder techniques. It also gave me the chance to see how much I have grown as a maker over the last few years.
